Renting a property in Turkey is quite straight forward; there are no credit checks as there are in the UK. You can rent through a property agent or private.

If you rent through an agent you will have to pay a fee. You will be required to pay a deposit to the landlord; normally this will be 1 months’ rent and 1 month up front.

Also it is common for renters to pay 6 months in advance then a further 6 months after if they wish to proceed with renting the property.

A contract will be drawn up by the landlord or agent, stating how long you will rent the property. If you require pool maintenance this can be included in the rental agreement price if agreed by both parties.

All utility bills will be paid by the tenant, any taxes or property repairs are normally paid for by the landlord.
