The British International School Istanbul has an inclusive admissions policy meaning students won’t need to pass an entrance test or examination. They will however have to sit a Cognitive Aptitude Test that will be used to establish a baseline for their school targets.

Successful admission into the MEF International School depends on your child’s past performance at school. Your child will need a satisfactory grade level in order to avoid an interview or admission tests, if they don’t then they may have to attend an interview with a teacher or take subject placement tests.

If your child is joining between grades 6 – 12 then they will need to have a GPA (Grade Point Average) minimum equivalent of 60% from their previous school. If your child has special educational requirements then the school should be informed prior to admission and these students will be handled on a case by case basis.

Founded in 1911 the Istanbul International Community School is one of the oldest international schools in the world. Applications for a place at the school can be made through an application form or be completed online, students will need to have their past school records looked at and non-native speakers of English will need to be tested on their proficiency.

Istanbul International Community School only offers limited services for students with learning difficulties and disabilities. The school should be made aware of any learning difficulties and disabilities during the application process. Students in their middle school grades (Ages 11 – 16) will study eight different subjects including: English, a secondary Language, Humanities, Technology, Mathematics, Arts, Science, and Physical Education.

In grades 11 and 12 students undertake courses based upon the full International Baccalaureate Diploma program. The diploma comes in six different variants each focusing of different subjects and it’s a common university entry credential for students who move around from country to country.
