The lavish residential district of Sarıyer (prime location) is an exquisite fishing town, offering scenic Bosphorus views. Tarabya located on the picturesque cove of the Bosphorus shore is the summer choice resort of Istanbul’s rich jet set.

Yeniköy, (meaning “new village”), is a wealthy neighborhood in Sarıyer. The waterfront here is lined with hotels, villas and apartment blocks, cafés and fish restaurants. The 19th century wooden houses create a nostalgic charm.
The vicinity waterfront houses and gated compounds attract many expats from all over the world. In spite of the recent global economic crisis, the property prices along the Bosphorus have not declined, values differ, depending upon the location, whether it be waterside or roadside.
The harbour village of İstinye is one of the best places along the Bosphorus to enjoy a leisurely walk, seafood dinner and coffee afterwards. The harbour was once the major shipyard on the Bosphorus. Now it has a fish market and small marina sheltering pleasure craft and fishing boats. The impressive large modern shopping centre İstinye Park, named the best shopping complex in Istanbul is located here.
The wealthy suburb of Emirgan is famous for its seaside caféterias and is home to the largest park in Istanbul; Emirgan Park. The village square is a charming place, with old fountains and open-air cafés shaded by the many trees. An 18th century baroque mosque stands nearby.
One of Istanbuls most historic neighborhood’s, Rumelihisari is named after the 14th century Ottoman Rumelian Castle, which can be seen from all over the neighborhood from its hilltop perch. The area is relatively quiet and very attractive with its stone-paved streets and old wooden mansions. Istanbuls middle-class residents and students attending the prestigious Boğaziçi University reside here.
