Turkey Supports Foreign Investors

Turkey has announced its support for foreign investors at every stage, from feasibility studies to accessing financing and choosing the right location, the head of the Presidency’s Investment Office reported on 5th December.

“Even a company established by 100 % foreign capital is treated as a Turkish firm,” said Arda Ermut at the Business World and Investment Opportunities Summit.

A two day summit was organised by Turkish-Qatari joint institution Badeer Investment Platform with the support of the Turkish Presidency’s Investment Office and Trade Ministry on December 5th.

Turkey has over 27 free trade agreements with countries worldwide and hopes to set up more, especially in the East and Far East.

Turkey has attracted $200 billion in foreign direct investments since 2002 but its potential is much higher.

“We want to raise our share from global direct investments from 1 percent to 1.5 percent in the short-term and 2 percent in the long-term.” Ermut said.
