Kemer is situated on the Turkish Riviera, 40 km west of Antalya. In the winter the district area of Kemer has a population of 36.010 which increases dramatically in the summer. It attracts international holidaymakers from all over Europe. One of the major attractions of Kemer is its natural beauty; sea, mountains and pine forest combine in harmony. With easy transportation, good communication and other municipal services Kemer has a large proportion of the hotel bed capacity of the Antalya region, mostly all-inclusive resorts. Water sports is a main feature in the summer, sailing, diving, water ski and windsurfing are offered on the beach. The little village of Kemer is vibrant with clubs, bars, restaurants and shops and a small marina for sailboats. The long stretched promenade just behind the beach is well used even in the winter. Many hotels stay open in the winter, but there is a only a limited choice of open bars and restaurants during the winter season. The Kemer Golf & Country Club provides an ambitious golf course which is open all year around. Parts of the Lycian walk can be hiked from here, but sensible shoes are required. Especially for families with children Kemer is a good choice for the next vacation.
